Coils are the simplest and therefore most common delivery format for strip. They are packaged horizontally on square or round pallets whose size is matched to the outer diameter of the coils.

For a given inner diameter ID of the coils, the outer diameter OD depends on the pre-material used, i.e. primarily on the format of the slab and, therefore, on the alloy. However, other manufacturing parameters, such as for example the strip thickness and width, number and type of manufacturing steps and the batch size, also have an influence.
