Edge bow/straightness

The narrower the final width of the strip, the easier it is for the two edges of a strip lying on a planar support to deviate from a straight line at the sides. This deviation is known as the camber and is generally specified as a maximum bow depth over a measured length of 1 m. Values in accordance with EN 1654 are possible:

Thickness Straightness tolerance (mm/m) for widths (mm)
mm) > 3 - 6

> 6 - 10
> 10 - 20
> 20 - 350
up to 0.5 12

0.5 - 1.0 -

Increased work in manufacturing allows the straightness of a strip to be reduced to the following tolerances:

Thickness Straightness tolerance (mm/m) for widths (mm)
(mm)
> 3 - 6 > 6 - 10
> 10 - 20
> 20 - 350
up to 0.5 7 5 3 1
0.5 - 1.0 - 6 4 1.5
